What is SisterFriends Detroit?

SisterFriends Detroit is a volunteer effort to support healthier moms and babies. SisterFriends Detroit mentors pregnant moms and their families until their baby’s first birthday.


Who is a SisterFriend?

A SisterFriend (SF)  is a person who is willing to commit to mentoring a pregnant woman who lives in the city of Detroit. The Mentor provides social support by helping the expecting mom to navigate barriers and to ensure that she is connected to necessary resources to have a healthy pregnancy and thriving infant.

SisterFriends Detroit Trainings for 2018

All trainings are held at the Detroit Health Department’s Healthier Beginnings Campus, at:

55 W. 7 Mile Rd.
Detroit, MI, 48203

Trainings are from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM on designated weekdays and once monthly on a Saturday  from 12:30pm to 2:00pm Dates are shown below.

We also offer group and organizational trainings. If your staff, group of friends or family cannot make any of the dates below, please call us to schedule an alternative date and time.
